ABOUT takesha

Takesha Meshé Kizart-Thomas has been praised by The New York Times for a voice that is “powerful, lustrous, silky, caramel-hued, wielding impressive ease and elegant control” and called “worthy of all superlatives… with a breathtaking mastery and unflinching portrayals… a vocal flexibility that enables her to acutely pass from a tearful murmur to a firm luminosity. And her dramatic intelligence is worthy of the great ‘lionesses’ of the lyric theater.” (Opera Magazine)

From leading roles with storied institutions such as the Metropolitan Opera and Sydney Opera House, to sharing the stage with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma and Wynton Marsalis, to collaborating with Broadway in Chicago and HBO, to developing new works (as Producer and Librettist), SHONDJ, Opera Reconstructed, The Phenomenal Woman, and Black Caesar, Ms. Kizart-Thomas couples her international artistic viewpoint with a vision for the arts that seeks to create, educate, unify, and empower.

Ms. Kizart-Thomas, a multi-disciplinary performing artist and creative producer, is a dynamic and intuitive arts ambassador with evidenced achievement in the creative performing arts, and a vision for the creation, development, production, presentation, and performance of world class impactful art and artists seeking to uplift and inspire.

“A vocal and dramatic powerhouse. There is an effortless force and radiance to her singing, but there’s also the nuance of emotional depth and surprisingly low tones.”
Artshub Australia

“Takesha Meshé Kizart, however, is worthy of all superlatives. With a breathtaking mastery... a vocal flexibility that enables her to acutely pass from a tearful murmur to a firm luminosity.”
