$35 tickets are available in the Second Tier Side Upper seating area for every performance at McCaw Hall unless otherwise specified. These seats typically sell out quickly so we highly recommend purchasing them as far in advance as possible.
Rush Programs (Updated!)
Rush is day-of-show assigned seat tickets offered at a steep discount from remaining inventory. In the interest of making opera accessible for all, Seattle Opera has expanded this program to meet the changing needs of our community and create an equitable experience for opera-goers of all means. Rush is now available for seniors, students, non-profit employees, educators, first responders, and more. Senior Rush: $45 day-of, limit 1 per senior
Community Rush: $35 day-of, limit 2 per eligible patron

- Non-profit employees serving the region in cultural attractions, environmental endeavors, community service, or other philanthropic work.
- Police, fire-fighters, EMTs, military & other civil servants
- Patrons with income-based necessity
- Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Level Educators
Student Rush: $25 day-of, limit 1 per student
- Full or part-time students who are working towards a degree or certificate at an acredited university or college.
How do I know if tickets will be available?
When availability and inventory allow, a limited number of rush tickets will be made available at the discretion of management. Bookmark this page and check back approximately 48 hours in advance of the desired performance. We’ll update this page with the latest availability.
How do I purchase rush tickets?
Rush tickets are sold in person only at either McCaw Hall or the Opera Center. When available, rush tickets will be sold from the time Audience Services opens until one (1) hour before the performance. If you have an ADA seating need, please inform the representative and all reasonable accommodations will be made. Rush is not available in the Dress Circle. Due to the high demand of rush tickets, we are unable to allow rush ticket buyers to select their own seat(s).
Purchase hours and locations:
- At the Opera Center: Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM–5:30 PM; Saturdays from 1:00 PM–5:00 PM.
- At McCaw Hall Box Office: For evening performances from 5:30 PM–6:30 PM; for Sundays matinee performances from 12:00 PM–1:00PM.
What ID do I need?
Each eligible patron must be present with valid ID and/or qualifying documents as outlined above. Acceptable forms of verification include work ID, union card, recent pay stub, valid ORCA LIFT cards, Apple Health cards, EBT cards, a current Employment security paystub, military ID, business card, school ID etc. Prices are subject to change without notice. Management reserves the right to verify any ID/verification documents, and refuse tickets to patrons who are not believed to meet requirements or appear to be abusing the program eligibility outlined above.
How do I sign up?
To expedite your experience at the box office, please submit this form in its entirety for each eligible person. After submitting the form to the box office, each eligible persons will receive a membership card via email (usually in 2-3 business days) to use to purchase future rush tickets. You do not need to fill out the online form in advance of the performance, it will just make your experience faster. Please be aware, whether you complete the form or not, verification is required at the time of ticket purchase at the box office.

Rush availability for each mainstage opera will be posted approximately two days before each performance and will be updated whenever a change occurs.
Rush is not offered for concerts, special events, youth performances, and chamber operas.
In the 2021/22 season, Seattle Opera will offer standing room tickets at McCaw Hall only when performances are sold out. This page will be updated when standing room is available.
When available, standing room is $35 and is located at the back of the Orchestra level. Tickeholders must be able to stand throughout the performance. You may not sit in any unoccupied seats, but there is a padded rail to lean against. Standing room tickets become available on the day of the performance or, for Sunday performances, one day before. To purchase standing room tickets, call the Ticket Office at 206.389.7676 or visit our administrative offices at 363 Mercer St. on the day of the show starting when the ticket office opens (10 AM for weekday performance days; 1 PM for Saturday performance days). Standing room tickets are not available online. Please be aware that the English translations are not visible from the standing room location in the back of the Orchestra seating, and that availability is extremely limited.
Family day & Children's tickets
At least once a year, Seattle Opera designates a Sunday "Family Day" matinee. For these specially designated performances in the 2019/20 season, students 18 and under in the company of an adult in the same seating zone pay only $20 for almost any seat. Family Days also feature special student-oriented activities before the performance and/or during intermission, such as a costume dress-up station or the chance to interact with members of the chorus and orchestra. Please no babes in arms.
Please note: Valid student ID or proof of age is required for entry. At least one full price adult ticket must be purchased with EVERY student ticket order. Adult and $20 tickets must be in the same seating zone on the same performance date. Limit four $20 student tickets for each full price adult ticket purchased. Student tickets are not available in the Dress Circle, Orchestra Center Aisle, and $35 Second Tier seating sections.
Military personnel with valid ID save 15% on single ticketspurchased in advance to any Seattle Opera mainstage performance at McCaw Hall. Limit two discounted tickets per Military ID. Many employees of Puget Sound companies are eligible to receive Seattle Opera ticket discounts. Seattle Opera works with benefits provider Passport Unlimited to offer 20% discounts to employees of local companies including Microsoft, Swedish, BECU, Apple, Google, T-Mobile, Franciscan Health, and many more. Seattle Opera is a proud participant in Seattle Center's TeenTix program. Enrolled teens can purchase opera tickets for $5 on the day of the performance, one ticket per member with 2 for $10 available on our Sunday matinees. TeenTix tickets are subject to availability and
