Get to know contemporary American opera in a class led by dramaturg Jonathan Dean. Spanning a large range of topics and musical styles, this class will help participants deepen their knowledge of the astonishing recent surge of operatic creativity in the US.

The course will also feature live interviews with two leading contemporary opera creators: composer Gregory Spears (Fellow Travelers, '25) and librettist Mark Campbell (The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, '19).

Each class session will be recorded and made available within a few days following each class.
