Beginning this January, youth ages 7–18 will set sail on an unforgettable hero’s journey into the land of Greek mythology with this season’s Youth Opera Project production of Odyssey. Featuring rousing choruses, gods, sirens, and an angry cyclops, this opera for all ages from the creative team behind Robin Hood breathes new life into Homer’s epic tale.
The program rehearses on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM from January 8 through March 5, with tech rehearsals March 7–11, and culminates in 4 public performances at the Opera Center the weekend of March 13–15. A more in-depth rehearsal and performance schedule will be sent closer to the start of the program.

Seattle Opera has recently increased our youth program tuition fees. This is due in part to recent company-wide budget cuts and in order to bring our fees more in line with other youth performing arts training programs offered in the region. Participant tuition still does not cover the full cost of the program. Seattle Opera remains committed to equity and providing accessible programs to everyone in our community, regardless of financial standing. If you require financial assistance, please complete our financial assistance request form before submitting your registration.
