Tenor Michael Fabiano is joined by members of our very own Teen Vocal Studio and pianist Jay Rozendaal for a one-night-only fundraiser recital. Mr. Fabiano will work with the teens in a masterclass the day before then join them for this recital featuring selections by Mozart, Bernstein, Gounod, and more.
Proceeds from this recital will benefit Seattle Opera Youth Programs such as Teen Vocal Studio, as well as ArtSmart. ArtSmart transforms the lives of youth in under-resourced communities across the US through tuition-free music lessons and mentorship by paid, professional artists. We are excited to work with ArtSmart to continue to bring music and opera to the youth in our community.
This unique training program for high school singers considering a future in music and opera provides teens the chance to participate in masterclasses with Seattle Opera artists, workshops ranging in topics from lyric diction to auditions, and have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. Studio members also receive special access to company rehearsals and performances, receive individual vocal coachings, and gain valuable skills to continue their development as young artists and performers.
