Music Theatre Workshops give students a chance to stretch their artistic wings and grow their creative capacity. These unique offerings are delivered throughout the year outside regular hours as one-day, multi-day, week, or multi-week camps and workshops. Each workshop features a sharing for family and friends.

Youth Opera Project

Seattle Opera and Seattle Public Theater are pleased to launch a new initiative: The Youth Opera Project! Students age 7–18 of all skill levels will explore stagecraft, singing, acting, dancing, and more, culminating with public performances of an opera. No prior experience required.

Pre-College Training

Teen Vocal Studio is Seattle Opera's auditioned roster of twelve dedicated young men and women preparing for college and career in vocal performance. In additions to lessons with their own voice teachers, these high school students meet regularly for performance workshops, musicianship courses, master classes, and competitions to build skills essential to a singing career.

Seattle Opera Summer Academy

A three-week intensive program preparing college aged singers for operatic careers, providing opportunities to perform in solo roles and participate in master classes. The 2017 Opera Academy culminated in a staged production of Aaron Coplands's The Tender Land, performed on August 4 and 5 at McIntyre Hall with full orchestra.
