The Youth Opera Project is a comprehensive opera training program designed to guide youth through the journey of rehearsing and performing a fully staged, fully produced youth opera. Students age 7–18 of all experience levels will explore singing, acting, dancing, and more, culminating with public performances of an opera at Cornish Playhouse in the spring.
Youth participants will work with professional teaching artists in a fun and safe space. The Youth Opera Project accepts everyone ages 7–18, regardless of skill level. No prior experience is necessary.
Seattle Opera is committed to providing equitable access to the arts. Financial assistance is available.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Youth Opera Project cannot be held safely in its usual form in 2020/21. Auditions for this program have been postponed. More information on an updated program will be available soon.
