SAFE PERFORMANCES FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Seattle Opera remains resolute in service to our community, even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Our new performance series, Community Serenades, brings the magic of live opera to seniors and people experiencing homelessness, while adhering to strict safety protocols to help keep everyone safe. Each performance features a singer and pianist, performing from a safe location while residents listen from the safety of their homes or in large outdoor spaces.
In the summer of 2021, we’ve brought Community Serenades to the following locations:
- Langdon and Anne Simons Senior Apartments (Plymouth Housing)
- Mary's Place Women's Day Center
- Jubilee Women's Center
- Entre Hermanos
- El Centro de la Raza
- Providence ElderPlace
- DESC’s Canaday House
Upcoming Community Serenade locations include:
In partnership with Path with Art and Goethe Pop Up Seattle.
We hope to expand this program to healthcare facilities and Seattle neighborhoods. We are able to offer a limited number of free performances to retirement communities and permanent supportive housing facilities in the greater Seattle area, and others will be available for a fee.If you have any questions or would like to inquire about scheduling a Community Serenade, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
