Diamond Dinner
An elegant dinner followed by an intimate conversation between General Director Speight Jenkins and a major artist from one of the season’s productions. Last season’s Diamond Dinner guest artist was Chris Alexander, Director of The Italian Girl in Algiers and the new production of Don Giovanni.
Young Artists Program Recital
An exclusive recital featuring one or more of Seattle Opera’s Young Artists. Last season’s recital featured Young Artists performing Peter Brook’s The Tragedy Of Carmen.
Crown Donor Rehearsal Dinners
An elegant cocktail reception and dinner featuring an exclusive preview of the night’s opera by General Director Speight Jenkins. Following dinner, guests are escorted into the theatre to watch the final dress rehearsal. Invitations to the Crown Donor Rehearsal Dinners are mailed for each opera.
Meet-the-Artists Reception
An exclusive reception and opportunity to rub elbows with General Director Speight Jenkins and artists from one of the season’s productions. Past Meet-the-Artists receptions have been held at the Frye Art Museum.
Technical Elements
A special behind-the-scenes talk by Seattle Opera’s Technical Director, Robert Schaub. Hear Bob reveal some the most fascinating secrets of the trade.
Scenic Elements
A motor coach trip to the Seattle Opera Scenic Studios in Renton. Learn from the artists and craftspeople who build sets for Seattle Opera and arts organizations throughout the country.
Piano Technical Rehearsal
One of the most important stages of the rehearsal process, the Piano Technical Rehearsal takes place in McCaw Hall and is one of the final opportunities for the artistic team to fine-tune the production prior to opening night.
Production Elements
Costume Department staff offer a detailed look into the world of opera costumes. This tour reveals the fascinating techniques behind the assembly of costumes for grand opera.
Final Dress Rehearsal
Enjoy a final dress rehearsal of one opera during the season. See the cast in full costume and makeup, with full orchestra, and experience the rehearsal process.
Annual Meeting
Join the Board of Trustees and staff at Seattle Opera’s Annual Meeting. Celebrate in the successes of the recently completed opera season and hear exciting news about Seattle Opera’s future. The Artists of the Year are also revealed at the Annual Meeting.
Donor Suites at McCaw Hall
The Platinum Suite is reserved for donors at the Platinum Circle level ($12,500 and above) and is open for full dinner service two hours before curtain and for complimentary refreshments during intermissions. The Platinum Suite is not open on Friday or Sunday performances or for the closing Saturday performance. Reservations are required for pre-opera dinner.
The Crown Donor Suite is for donors at the Crown Donor Society level ($3,500 and above) and is open for light supper two hours before curtain and for refreshments during intermissions. Reservations are not required.
Both suites are located on the First Tier (4th floor) level of McCaw Hall. The Platinum Suite is located in the Norcliffe Room on the south end of the building and the Crown Donor Suite is on the north end of the building in the Allen Foundation for the Arts Room.
For admittance to the Crown Donor and Platinum Suites, please show your membership card to the staff attendant prior to entry. Lounge privileges are an exclusive donor benefit and are non-transferable.
Seattle Opera Gala - April 26, 2008
Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Seattle Opera’s Young Artist Program with an all-star cast of program alumni at the 2008 Seattle Opera Gala at McCaw Hall on Saturday, April 26, 2008. The Seattle Opera Gala is our annual fundraising event to benefit Seattle Opera’s nationally renowned education and outreach programs. These funds are essential to maintaining Seattle Opera’s acclaimed programs that bring opera to school children of all ages, train the next generation of opera singers, make opera accessible for newcomers, and enrich the experience of those who already know and love the art form.
