Mohn's Photos Displayed At Tosca

Seattle Opera audiences may not recognize Bill Mohn on sight, but his production and rehearsal images have graced the pages of many top opera publications and major newspapers in the country. Mohn is February’s New Visions artist. His work has been displayed at the Mercer Island Visual Arts League and at other venues.

He volunteers his artistry and photography skills to a variety of local non-profit organizations, including Seattle Opera, the Museum of Flight, the Seattle International Film Festival, and Pacific Northwest Ballet.

Some of the works he is exhibiting this month at McCaw Hall have been hand-processed, utilizing digital manipulation to create a “painterly” effect. “I find this my most exciting time for photography not only because modern digital cameras capture images as well as film cameras but because modern post-processing provides tools and precision I never found in a darkroom,” Mohn commented. “I love doing photography for Seattle Opera but it’s exciting to be able to showcase some of the other photography I’ve been doing.”
