Seattle Opera's blog is now open to the public! Initially launched as a subscribers-only benefit, the Seattle Opera Blog with Perry Lorenzo is now accessible to anyone looking to learn a bit more about opera. Bloggers joining Education Director Perry Lorenzo are Education Artistic Administrator Jonathan Dean and Education Associate Seneca Garber. Dean and Garber already provide their unique commentary and insight on the season’s operas during their preview discussions throughout the community and at pre-performance lectures, and the blog will allow them to share even more.
New content is added nearly every day, with recent posts focusing on Seattle Opera’s upcoming production of The Marriage of Figaro —Mozart’s musical choices, the opera’s constant battle of the sexes, films the composer’s life inspired, and much more. Posts feature images, music clips, and the thoughtful observations of Seattle Opera’s Education staff. Expect further discussions on the ins-and-outs of Figaro, leading up to opening night on May 2, and of course, Wagner’s Ring this summer.
