The Girl of the Golden West

In Italian with English Captions

Based on the play by David Delasco

Puccini, one of opera’s most beloved composers, had many infatuations and one of them was America. Such was the inspiration for The Girl of the Golden West, a true American story set in the days of the California gold rush. Minnie, an honorable woman, follows her heart and gambles everything for the man she loves. Composed for America, the opera blends Italian song with a classic spaghetti western.
