Had a bit of a lie in, then called my mother in England and had a chat. Jenny brought Joseph, my teacher, over after they had had coffee and he showed us pictures of his house in Australia and his cats.
We then had a little drive around some of Seattle and showed him some of the sights. We then went down to Pike Place Market and had a walk around there. Joseph loves fish so was thrilled to see all the varieties here. We had lunch in a French-style cafe then dropped him off at his hotel and Brian and I did a few more errands.
Joseph came to rehearsal with me in the evening, so he could listen to me so we could work. We did the 2 finales with all the chorus and supers, so there were a lot of people in the rehearsal room. The chorus sounded wonderful and it was very exciting to hear them for the first time. The Prisoners' Chorus is one of my favorite pieces ever and I am onstage during this so I will get to hear it every night, which is lovely. It's very moving and the men's chorus really sounded fabulous.
After the rehearsal, I took Joseph to the store for a few groceries, then came home and watched TV with my husband. Always a nice end to the day.
