Opera Sings the Soul: Exploring Opera’s Cultural Connections

For opera and all music lovers, the Stroum Jewish Community Center warmly presents an exciting new and original lecture series on opera and its connection with Jewish themes and performers.

Lead by Seattle Opera Education Associate Seneca Garber; discussions will include famous cantors and opera singers such as Jan Peerce, Robert Merrill, Roberta Peters, Beverly Sills, and others. Interviews with members of the Seattle Jewish community will explore operas including “Brundibar” and “La Juive.” In addition, lecturers from The Seattle Opera will introduce its next opera, “I Puritani,” and their exciting 2008-2009 season.
