William Saetre


William Saetre made his Seattle Opera debut in 2001 as Red Whiskers in Britten’s Billy Budd and has returned often, performing such roles as Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen, Bardolfo in Verdi’s Falstaff, Spoletta in Puccini’s Tosca, and Brighella in Richard Strauss Ariadne auf Naxos. Saetre’s credits include Raoul de St. Brioche in Lehàr’s Lustige Witwe with San Francisco Opera, the Novice and Squeak in Billy Budd with Dallas Opera, and Dr. Caius in Falstaff at Kentucky Opera. Abroad, Saetre has appeared at Paris Opéra-Bastille, Frankfurt Opera, Opera Ireland, Musiktheater im Revier (Germany), and National Theatre in Prague. He returns to Seattle Opera in 2006 in Richard Strauss’s Rosenkavalier.
