Twyla Robinson makes her Seattle Opera debut as Countess Almaviva, a role that she previously sang at New Orleans Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Atlanta Opera, and at San Francisco Opera. She has performed Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni for New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, and most recently, Arizona Opera. Other opera credits include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni in San Francisco and Arminda in Mozart’s Finta giardiniera at Florida Grand Opera, and her repertoire also includes Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and the title roles in Richard Strauss’s Arabella and Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah. Robinson has sung many of the world’s leading orchestras including London Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Staatskapelle, Atlanta Symphony, Houston Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Seattle Symphony, among others. Recent concert performances include Richard Strauss’s Last Four Songs with the American Symphony Orchestra, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and the world premiere of Augusta Read Thomas’s Absolute Ocean with Houston Symphony. She can also be heard on the recordings of Richard Strauss’s Elektra and Daphne made with West German Radio Orchestra.
