Thomas Studebaker made his Seattle Opera debut in 1999 as the First Armed Man in Mozart’s Zauberflöte, and he returned in 2000 for Froh in Wagner’s Rheingold, in 2001 for Froh in Wagner’s Ring, and in 2002 for Narraboth in R. Strauss’s Salome. In 2003, he sang the First Knight in Parsifal. Narraboth was his debut role at both L’Opéra de Montréal and Santa Fe Opera. Other roles for Studebaker include Siegmund in Wagner’s Walküre, which he sang for his debut at Lyric Opera of Chicago last December, and Erik in Wagner’s Fliegende Holländer. Studebaker has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in seven productions; his Met roles include Schreiber in Wagner’s Tannhäuser, Moser in Wagner’s Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and Melot in Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde.
