Bio

Rosemary Alvino sang the Nurse in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov and Miss Bentson in Delibes’ Lakmé. Her first role with Seattle Opera was Marthe in Gounod’s Faust, which she sang in 1998, after three seasons with Opera Colorado’s Artist Center program. While in Colorado, Alvino sang numerous roles on that company’s mainstage, including Carmen, Prince Orlovsky in J. Strauss, Jr.’s Fledermaus, and Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. Other roles for Alvino include Mary in Wagner’s Fliegende Holländer, Maddalena in Verdi’s Rigoletto, and the Witch in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel. A cantor at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in New York, Alvino has also made several concert appearances at Carnegie Hall.
