Maya Lahyani
Mezzo-soprano
Israeli native Maya Lahyani received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Mannes College. Her roles with Mannes Opera included Cherubino in Mozart’s Nozze di Figaro, Mother Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, and Flora in Verdi’s Traviata. With the International Opera Summer Program in Tel Aviv, Lahyani performed Rebecca Nurse in Robert Ward’s Crucible and the title role in Mascagni’s Zanetto. Lahyani is a winner of the New York district of the 2009 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. As a 2009 member of San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program she sang Beppe in Mascagni’s Amico Fritz. This season she will perform Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with the Seattle Opera Young Artists.
