Margaret Gawrysiak
Mezzo-Soprano
Margaret Gawrysiak returns for her second season with Seattle Opera’s Young Artists Program, after singing Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Dinah in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti last season. She has also performed as the Witch in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Mother Marie in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites, Berta in Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia, Madame de la Haltière in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and Bessie in Weill’s Mahagonny-Songspiel. She has previously performed with Glimmerglass Opera, Aspen Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Seattle Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, and Syracuse Symphony. Gawrysiak, who earned her M.M. from the Eastman School of Music, was twice a member of the Young American Artists Program at Glimmerglass Opera. She will perform Zita at the Opera Company of Philadelphia this spring, before joining San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program.
