Former Seattle Opera Young Artist Marcus Shelton recently made his international debut as Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with Greek National Opera, a role he performed in last season’s Young Artists’ production. During his two seasons with the program, Shelton’s roles included Beppe in Donizetti’s Rita, Petit Viellard and Rainette in Ravel’s Enfant et les sortilèges, and Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff. As a member of Seattle Opera’s chorus Shelton performed in mainstage productions of Beethoven’s Fidelio, Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann, Wagner’s Parsifal, and Verdi’s Macbeth, among others. He recently performed Alfredo/Gastone in Verdi’s Traviata with Skagit Opera.
