Lisa Daltirus
Soprano
Lisa Daltirus made her Seattle Opera debut in the title role of Puccini’s Tosca, a role that she has performed at Boston Lyric Opera, Connecticut Opera, Minnesota Opera, Carolina Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and New York Grand Opera. She was also seen here in the title role of Verdi’s Aida, after previously performing the role in Portland, Cincinnati, Michigan, Delaware, Connecticut, and Philadelphia. Recent roles include Cilla in Richard Danielpour’s Margaret Garner for her New York City Opera debut; Serena in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess in Philadelphia, and Bess in Detroit; Mimì in Puccini’s Bohème in North Carolina; and Leonora in Verdi’s Trovatore in Hartford. Her European performances include Lia in Debussy’s Enfant Prodigue in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Rosalind in Johann Strauss Jr.’s Fledermaus in Thessaloniki, Greece, and Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci at Opéra national de Lorraine, France. Daltirus has appeared as a soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Philadelphia Orchestra, sung in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Aspen Music Festival, and made her Avery Fisher Hall debut at the Richard Tucker Foundation Gala. Future engagements include Tosca in Arizona, Serena at Washington Opera, and Bess at Lyric Opera of Chicago and Baltimore Opera. She will be seen as Leonora in Seattle Opera’s Il Trovatore in 2010.
