Kristine Jepson


Kristine Jepson makes her role debut and Seattle Opera debut as Sesto in February 2007. She first appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in Britten’s Death in Venice, and returned for Stéphano in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Idamante in Mozart’s Idomeneo and Cherubino in Mozart’s Nozze di Figaro, Octavian in Richard Strauss’s Rosenkavalier, the Composer in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, Ascanio in Berlioz’ Benvenuto Cellini, and Siebel in Gounod’s Faust. Last season, Jepson created the role of Kitty in John Adams’s Doctor Atomi at San Francisco Opera, made her debut at Oper Frankfurt as Charlotte in Massenet’s Werther, and sang Idamante at Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Composer at Teatro alla Scala. She has sung Sister Helen Prejean in Heggie’s Dead Man Walking in Dresden, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. She has also appeared at Royal Opera Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Hamburg Staatsoper, La Monnaie, Vancouver Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Washington National Opera, Dallas Opera, and New York City Opera. Upcoming engagements include Dead Man Walking in Vienna, Doctor Atomic in Amsterdam, Der Rosenkavalier in Genoa, and Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma in Philadelphia.
