Hanan Alattar


Hanan Alattar will make her Seattle Opera debut as Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute, a role she has previously sung at Arizona Opera. Alattar’s recent roles have included Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen at Boston Lyric Opera, Musetta in Puccini’s Bohème at English National Opera, Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto at Palm Beach Opera, and Konstanze in Mozart’s Entführung aus dem Serail at the Ravinia Festival. Alattar has also sung Dragonette in the world premiere of Elliot Goldenthal’s Grendel at Los Angeles Opera; Gilda at Opera Santa Barbara; Water in Rachel Portman’s Little Prince, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and the First Maid in Richard Strauss’s Daphne at New York City Opera; Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd at Wolf Trap Opera; Alceste in Handel’s Arianna in Creta at Gotham Chamber Opera; and Rosina in John Corigliano’s Ghosts of Versailles and Sacagawea in Stephen Mager’s children’s opera Dream of the Pacific at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. At the Aspen Musical Festival, Alattar has appeared as Blanche in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, Giorgetta in Puccini’s Tabarro, and Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.
