Bio
Prior to joining Seattle Opera in 1990 as master stage carpenter, Charles T. Buck toured with Houston Ballet, worked as a gaffer and effects technician on numerous films, and served as Tacoma Opera’s technical director. Buck designed the harnesses worn by the Rhine Daughters in Seattle Opera’s current production of Wagner’s Ring des Nibelungen. He also designed the harness used by Seattle Opera, Washington National Opera, and New Israeli Opera in the hanging scene of Britten’s Billy Budd. Buck’s fire design projects include Brünnhilde’s protective fire in the Ring and the celebratory fireworks for Ariadne auf Naxos.
