Antonello Palombi made his U.S. opera debut with Seattle Opera singing Dick Johnson in Puccini’s Fanciulla del West, and returned to sing Radames in Verdi’s Aida and Canio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. Recent engagements include Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca in New Orleans and Torre del Lago, Dick Johnson at Danish National Opera, Calaf in Puccini’s Turandot in Venice, and Faust in Boito’s Mefistofele in Belgium. Palombi’s European credits include Luigi in Puccini’s Tabarro and Radames at Teatro alla Scala; the title role in Giordano’s Andrea Chénier, Don Alvaro in Verdi’s Forza del destino, and Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at Deutsche Oper Berlin; Calaf in Cagliari and Naples; and Des Grieux in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Helsinki, among others. Additional roles include Ismaele in Nabucco at the Baths of Caracalla and Andrea Chénier in Frankfurt. In the U.S., Palombi has sung Canio at Dallas Opera, Radames at Michigan Opera Theatre and Palm Beach Opera, and Cavaradossi at Baltimore Opera and Cincinnati Opera. He has sung Verdi’s Otello in Melbourne, Australia, and Monte-Carlo. This season he will make his debut at Opera Colorado as Cavaradossi.
