Maestro Allemandi made his Seattle Opera debut conducting Puccini’s Madama Butterfly in 1995 and returned to conduct Verdi’s Trovatore and Ballo in maschera, Mozart’s Nozze di Figaro, and Puccini’s Tosca. This Milan native conducts regularly at Vienna State Opera, where he has conducted Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia and Verdi’s Trovatore and Traviata. He has conducted Rossini’s Italiana in Algeri with Bavarian State Opera and Bellini’s Pirata with Deutsche Oper, Berlin. He conducted Tosca at the Paris Opéra-Bastille, where he had previously conducted Verdi’s Ballo in maschera with Jane Eaglen as Amelia. He has conducted more than twenty-five productions in Bilbao, including Gounod’s Faust, Meyerbeer’s Huguenots, and Verdi’s Aida. He has conducted for the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, for the companies of Cologne and Stuttgart, and Teatro Real in Madrid. In the U.S. he has appeared at Portland and Dallas Operas. Maestro Allemandi served as music director of the Orchestre Colonne in Paris from 1991 to 1996.
