Alexandra Deshorties made her Seattle Opera debut in 2006 as Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, a role she sang the same season for the Metropolitan Opera (including the international radio broadcast). A graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, she has since appeared there as Tytania in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, as Musetta in Puccini’s Bohème, and in several Mozart roles: Elettra in Idomeneo, Constanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro. Deshorties has appeared as Donna Anna for Houston Grand Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, and Cincinnati Opera; as Fiordiligi for San Francisco Opera; as Elettra for Houston, and as Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor and Mozart’s Countess for Portland Opera Repertory Theatre in Maine. In Europe she has appeared in France, Spain, and Switzerland, all in Mozart roles. In 2006/07 season, she returned to the Metropolitan Opera for Elettra (including the international radio broadcast).
