Jason Collins


Jason Collins, a two-time international Wagner Competition finalist, made his Seattle Opera debut as the Steersman in Wagner’s Fliegende Holländer and returned as Froh in Wagner’s Ring in August. Collins recently sang Tichon in Janácek’s Kát’a Kabanová at Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the title role in Mozart’s Idomeneo Bologna, Modena, and at Boston Lyric Opera. Other performances include Froh in San Francisco, the Drum Major in Berg’s Wozzeck in Philadelphia, Casey in Richard Danielpour’s Margaret Garner in Detroit, Peter Quint in Britten’s Turn of the Screw in Pittsburgh, Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer in Phoenix, Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin in Louisville, Narraboth in Richard Strauss’s Salome at the Kennedy Center, and the title role in Kurka’s Good Soldier Schweik with Chicago Opera Theater and on the world premiere recording. Upcoming engagements include Cassio in Verdi’s Otello in Philadelphia, the title role of Wagner’s Parsifal in Turin, and Mahler’s Das Klagende Lied at La Monnaie.
