Renaud Doucet
Assistant Director and Choreographer
After a career as principal dancer for a number of international dance companies, French-born Doucet began a new career as an opera stage director and choreographer. Recent projects include Monteverdi's Incoronazione di Poppea for L'Opéra de Montréal, Adolphe Adam's Si j'étais roi at the Wexford Festival, and Verdi's Aida for Manitoba Opera. In the U.S., Doucet has worked for several opera companies, including Opera Pacific and Baltimore, Michigan, Florentine, and Arizona Operas. Doucet's homebase is Montréal, where he works frequently with L'Opéra de Montréal. Last season he staged a production of Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande there. These performances mark his Seattle Opera debut.
