Wagner and More
About WAM
Seattle Opera is widely recognized as America’s premier producer of the works of Richard Wagner and in 2004, a group of Seattle Opera Wagner lovers came together to form Wagner and More (fondly nicknamed “WAM”), an affinity group designed to provide events and activities for the social Wagnerian.
From educational lectures to private concerts and travel to Vancouver, Santa Fe, San Francisco, and elsewhere, WAM members experience the magic of opera in unique ways, meeting three to four times a year in both social and educational settings. We’ve featured an array of stage directors and singers at our gatherings, including Jane Eaglen, Stephen Wadsworth, Chris Alexander, author Don Arthur, and a recent event hosted by Peter Kazaras at his home. WAM members, who are both subscribers and donors to Seattle Opera, enjoy the opportunity to engage in lively discussion with each other and our guest presenters. WAM membership is a great way to explore various aspects of Wagner’s works and his influence on music and art.
If you have an interest in gathering with other Wagner lovers and exploring the social Wagnerian within you, consider membership in Wagner and More.
The group meets several times a year with an emphasis evenly divided between friendship and scholarship. Programming will include book discussions, special lectures by Opera staff and visiting scholars, Wagner video nights, dinners and activities with out-of-town visitors attending Wagner operas.
WAM membership dues cost just $60 per person and provide access to a full season of great social and education operatic activities.
