Seattle Opera Guild
The Seattle Opera Guild has been providing educational and social opportunities for its members since 1956. Current Guild membership is approximately 350. Through its fundraising activities, the Guild has raised over $65,000 each year for donation to opera-related organizations. The bulk of the money has gone to Seattle Opera, but other recipients include King County libraries, Metropolitan Opera National Council–Northwest Region (MONC–NW), and Northwest Opera In Schools Etc. (NOISE).

At the heart of the Seattle Opera Guild (SOG), prior to each new Seattle Opera each Preview Group presents a special party with refreshments related to the theme of the upcoming Seattle Opera production. These parties include a musical preview of the new opera presented by a narrator, several outstanding singers and an expert pianist.
Various unusual fundraisers relating to opera are held throughout the year. Other SOG parties include the Spring Soiree with festive decorations, and opera presentations, the Holiday Luncheon featuring the drawing for the annual raffle, a young opera singer, and the Annual Meeting with opera entertainment to conclude another successful season.
Seattle Opera Guild members gain lasting new friendships through social interactions at SOG functions and the opportunities to work together on worthwhile fundraising projects that benefit the Seattle Opera, its Education Programs, Education in the Schools (NOISE), and other opera-related educational events.
Each season the Seattle Opera Guild sells raffle tickets at its preview group meetings and at intermission during the May, August, and October Seattle Opera performances. Drawings for the winning tickets will be announced at the Annual Holiday Luncheon in December, 2012. Winners are notified individually by phone after the drawings.
