Development Coordinator

Seattle Opera is accepting applications for the position of Development Coordinator. This full-time, non-exempt position is a member of the Development Department. The Development Coordinator plays a key role in providing administrative support to senior development department staff, the Campaign for Seattle Opera Steering Committee and volunteers and the Seattle Opera Board of Trustees.

Scope & Principal Accountabilities

This position coordinates all Board meetings and assigned committee activities, is the point of contact for all trustees, and disseminates information and materials as needed. The Development Coordinator provides support services to the Director of Development and senior development staff managing the Campaign for Seattle Opera. The Development Coordinator maintains database files, updates materials and assists with filing reports and related materials primarily related to Board activities and the Campaign. Work encompasses scheduling staff meetings, maintaining the department calendar, and other projects as needed. This person works at donor events and at the donor lounges during opera performances, which includes some weekend and/or evening work hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
2-3 years professional work in a non-profit and/or customer service related field.
Skilled in Microsoft Windows software including: Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Excellent database software aptitude and acumen.
Knowledge of Tessitura or other non-profit development database system a plus.
Superb administrative skills and highly organized.
Strong interpersonal communication including ability to work and communicate effectively with key community leaders.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

$14-15 per hour, D.O.E.
