Seattle Opera is accepting applications for the position of Desktop and User Support Technician. This full-time, salaried position reports to the Information Systems Manager, and has principal responsibility of fielding Help Desk calls, providing Office 2007 application support, supporting AV needs and presentations and troubleshooting and installing hardware and software systems.
• Provide front line support and manage Help Desk requests in a timely manner.
• Team with other I.S. staff to help maintain and support Company’s hardware and software, configuring new equipment and managing software updates based on set company standards.
• Setup and monitor laptop and projector equipment (AV) for all meetings where needed.
• Perform computer and peripheral moves and installations.
• Coordinate maintenance and service calls for printers and other hardware repairs.
• Provide high level of customer service to all levels of computer users in a positive, friendly manner.
• Provide and maintain timely communication with users and I.S. Staff throughout
problem solving process.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external user training on Company systems.
• Create and maintain documentation of systems and procedures.
• Fill in for other Information Systems staff members as needed
Bachelors Degree or equivalent. Minimum of two years experience supporting PCs and Office applications. Good understanding of PC hardware and Windows OS setup and configuration, PowerPoint and projector use, excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel and Access, in a multi-server, multi-site network environment. Mac experience a plus. Excellent problem solving skills.
Customer service focused. Willingness to see a problem through to resolution. Ideal candidate will be proactive and require little supervision but will call in help when needed.
Flexibility in scheduling related to supporting occasional Opera off-hour meetings or activities. Ability to lift and relocate PC components and peripherals.
