Seattle Opera is accepting applications for the position of Chorus Personnel Coordinator. This part -time position with benefits reports to the Music Administrator and serves as the primary communication liaison between the Production Group and the Seattle Opera Chorus. Duties include: maintaining attendance records and preparing payroll data, ensuring compliance with provisions of the Master Agreement and Chorus Policy Letter, coordinating auditions and evaluations, coordinating costume fittings, assisting in recruitment, keeping the Music Administrator up to date on any issues that arise, attending all chorus services, maintaining contact information and other record keeping functions, monitoring the Chorus Hot Line, coordinating, distributing, and collecting chorus scores and study materials and other duties as assigned. Aside from attending all chorus rehearsals and performances this position has somewhat flexible work-at-home hours with occasional daytime office meetings required.
• AA degree or equivalent course work in a music or theatrical related field.
• 2 years of professional stage singing experience in opera or related musical or theatrical field. Knowledge of opera repertoire and ability to read music preferred.
• Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Must utilize excellent judgment and discretion at all times and have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills
Salary: $14.50 hr. + benefits
