Seattle Opera Presents: OPera for the Young's

The Pirates of Penzance

An Opera for the Young Production
A One-Act Opera for Grades K5

Score by Arthur Sullivan
Libretto by W.S. Gilbert
Score and libretto adapted by Bill Lutes and Diane Garton Edie

Bring live opera to your school! This spring, Seattle Opera is thrilled to present The Pirates of Penzance. This swashbuckling comedic adventure is filled with toe-tapping tunes and serves as a perfect introduction to opera for young audiences. What makes the experience even more memorable is that each performance features a youth chorus of 12–16 students from your school who perform onstage with our cast.

This fully staged and costumed opera is performed with professional singers, colorful sets and costumes, and live piano accompaniment. Each school will also receive all materials needed to prepare the student chorus such as tutorial videos, rehearsal tracks, music, and a study guide to prepare all attending students for the opera.
